Sivali was foremost among the Buddha's disciples in receiving offerings; his mother Suppavasa carried him seven years, seven months and seven days. Manuscript 6983 knows him as Phra Chimphali and opens its whole collection with him, claiming a lineage back through King Narai to Naresuan. Carve a closed-face Phakawambodi figure from rak-son root, one finger-length and half an inch tall, hollow it, grind shoots of rak-son, sawat and ka-long, wrap the relics of Sariputta and of Chimphali in two yantras and seal them inside with underground stingless-bee resin; then a bai-si, a duck, a chicken, gold and silver rings on the bai-si's peak, and a three-day tham-khwan. Honour it morning and evening; a candle each dusk guards against thieves, fire and flood, and the text gives a katha of homage to be said before any katha asking for gain. The standing monk with umbrella and kettle is what the shops sell now; the treatise's Chimphali looks nothing like him.
