The double-edged dagger of the Malay-Javanese world: asymmetric base, straight or odd-waved blade, pattern-welded pamor. Kept as pusaka — a sanctified heirloom held to carry tuah, and in Javanese belief an isi or presence of its own — washed and oiled once a year, never drawn idly, never pointed.
