A knife forged and inscribed as an instrument of the doctor-of-spirits — for cutting what binds, not what bleeds. Manuscript 6983 in this corpus records a ten-iron forge recipe from Wat Pradu Song Tham.

Method 1, ascribed to Luang Pho Muang, alloys ten irons from sources the treatise names — stupa, prang and prasat finials, Nam Phi iron, palace-gate iron and more — forged on a Saturday or Tuesday by a smith keeping the precepts, with bai-si trays left and right and monks chanting the Karaniya seven times, then quenched three and seven times and given a handle packed with consecrated powders; the treatise names the quenching liquid and it is not reproduced here. Method 2 forges old iron and broken blades, steeps the knife in scented oil in a bronze bowl and wakes it with a long vernacular rousing-katha. In use it scratches a line the enemy cannot cross, is planted at a hole to put a household to sleep, and is held before the face to pass unseen.

Nobody home, nothing owed, by class. The trade adds a custom Thai Wikipedia records: a dead practitioner's knife passes to someone able to command it. The treatise recipe packs the handle with consecrated powder and names other ingredients not reproduced here, so ask what went into it.
