The Khmer Wikipedia article defines a yoan (យ័ន្ត) as a design drawn on white cloth or paper, and the Cambodian Hevajra yantra shows the Angkor-period esoteric layer still inside it. The English article on yantra cloth records the Khmer habits — a rain-quail motif, and raising the cloth to the house beam as the blessing that makes a house a home — and fighters in bokator go in wrapped in cloth and enchanted cords. Achar and kru khmer draw and bless them; factory-printed cloths without the rite circulate alongside. The gatha written on the cloth is the same Pali formula that goes into a katha tube or onto the skin.
