The treatise's Rahu chapter tells of two hermits on Mount Yugandhara who made the Suriyaprapha and Chanthaprapha yantra to relieve human poverty, and its first instruction is to find a one-eyed coconut shell and carve from it a Rahu swallowing the moon and a Rahu swallowing the sun. Offerings run to the planets' numbers — six of each for the sun, fifteen for the moon — the work is done on a full moon or an eclipse day, and the finished plaques go into gold and silver cases. The trade's best-known lineage is Wat Sisa Thong in Nakhon Pathom; uncarved rings and pendants are the commoner, cheaper form.
