# wichaa

> A research catalogue of Northern Thai (Lanna) manuscripts and the living wichaa
> (astrology, ritual, and magic) tradition around them: 6,990 manuscripts drawn from
> 30 named archives, 33 synthesised subject articles, a curated knowledge graph,
> and a living-market layer. Every fact is recomputed from the catalogue, not authored
> from priors. Metadata and digitised contributed texts are CC-BY 4.0; high-resolution
> source images remain with their holding libraries.

This site is a single-page viewer over a JSON + RDF data layer. **Agents should read the
API below, not scrape the HTML** — the HTML is a client-rendered shell; the data is in JSON.
All endpoints are CORS-open GET-only JSON. Start at the API index or the OpenAPI spec.

## Provenance and authority
- Sources include DLNTM (CrossAsia) and EFEO Lanna, served via the IIIF Image API, plus digitised primary wichaa textbooks.
- 21,652 manuscript images are addressable on demand through IIIF at their originating libraries.
